My motto has always been, "Find what it
is you like to do and do your best at it." The past three
decades have been shared with wonderful people who either wanted to
sell or find a special place called home for their families in the
country. ....a quiet retreat where a true quality of the life
can be enjoyed full time or as a second home. Many of those
places have been properties with historic homes on them. Over
the years I've enjoyed the privilege of assisting many individuals
with their dreams of owning a place in the country.
I LOOK
FORWARD TO THE OPPORTUNITY OF HELPING YOU ACHIEVE YOUR
DREAMS....... |

Stone Ledge Farm,
Hwy TT
St. Charles/Warren Co, MO
63342
STONE LEDGE FARM
200 Acre/approx., St. Charles/Warren Co. Farm
Imagine coming home to your very own Big Valley setting, in the historic Osage Indian Valley, now named “Stone Ledge”, at the end of the day or the end of a week to de-stress and relax. No need to travel an hour to reach your destination, as this fabulous property lies westward of Chesterfield by approximately, only 20 minutes, Clayton by 45 minutes, and historic St. Charles, by 30 minutes. Surrounded by other attractions such as the Missouri Katy Trail System, local vineyards and wineries, historic Daniel Boone Home and village, Luxenhaus Farm’s, Deutsch Country Days, the quaint German town of Augusta, the Washington Airport, as well as the town of Washington, just south, over the Missouri River bridge, gives this property a five star rating for LOCATION.
This exceptional country estate is suitable for many uses other than a country retreat/home. It is ideally suited for an organic vineyard and winery, coupled with a European Style Country Inn/Restaurant. Several large, level, open fields are ideal for use as polo fields, organic garden farming, a heliport, recreational sports fields, or whatever one’s interests requiring spacious, level green fields.
THE MAIN HOME
The main home on the estate is a 3 story, dwelling built in 1855 with limestone quarried from the farm. The property was owned at that time by J.P.W Piepmeier, a German immigrant, who acquired the land from successor owners of the Daniel and Rebecca Boone family who received the land in an 1803 Land Grant from the U.S. government in recognition of Boone’s services as an explorer. In 1972 the farm was purchased by Albert Firestone of Pennsylvania, who added a loggia along the front wall of the home, creating a timber and glass entrance with a staircase to access all three stories. He also built a winery building and added a greenhouse to the property at that time.
In 1986, Ruth and Tom Touhill, acquired the estate and during the last 22 years have lovingly restored, cared for, and updated the original buildings, and have moved several other significant historical buildings to the farm, having them reconstructed as ancillary buildings to the main home. One such building on the farm is a two story 1872, post and beam barn, moved to Stone Ledge and reconstructed to serve as an upscale barn, with suitability for entertaining large social gatherings.
The main home was enlarged with the addition of an 1842 stone house from the local area, which was dismantled, and then thoughtfully added on to the original stone home, creating a new kitchen/hearth room and luxurious master bedroom suite. The 18” solid, cut limestone walls, hand-hewn timbers, original doors, paneling, and flooring were all used to create a grand, European style, gathering room with soaring ceilings, and a massive stone fireplace on the gable end, completing the Euro/Germanic ambiance.
THE GROUNDS
A leisurely stroll from the main home takes you to the 5 acre, clear, sparkling, stocked lake. A spacious dock and deck offer opportunities for activities on or around the water, year round.
Trails throughout the property lead to a prominent scenic overlook of the surrounding countryside. The topography is suitable for establishing vineyards, or orchards.
The Woodlands and valley floor are separated by a year-round flowing creek.
IN CONCLUSION
Some features of this spectacular holding have been deliberately omitted as to leave an element of discovery upon your personal inspection.
